Michel Colombier wrote the beautiful piece of music, Emmanuel, in
memory of his son who died only five years old.
Colombier's own recording "Wing" (1971) features an oboe as a solo
instrument.
After that, several great instrumentalists recorded the piece. Most
notable are those by Branford Marsalis (Soprano sax) and Chris Botti
(Trumpet).
